Most people spend a career in one room.
I've spent mine learning to walk into any of them
I’ve coached a U.S. Senate candidate before televised debates, and trained billionaires in their living rooms. I’ve held the attention of CEOs in Vistage peer groups, clinicians at Alberta Cancer Care, and students who’d never been taught any of this.
On paper, those rooms have nothing in common. The thing that let me walk into each one - and be heard - is the same skill: communication.
I didn’t inherit it. I built it - deliberately, across hundreds of rooms, paid and unpaid. It started at Second City, where improv teaches you to think, listen, and speak under live pressure with no script to hide behind. It sharpened across six countries and three languages, from Tokyo to São Paulo to Sudbury.
“Communication isn’t a talent you’re born with. It’s a discipline - and it’s the work I do.”
