Is your energy starting to plateau?
Do you have a lot of work to do, but seemingly not enough time and energy?
Are you feeling permanently tired?
The thing about energy is that it’s so variable. At one time you can feel like anything is possible, and the next you’re sinking into a slump that feels impossible to get out of.
Energy is a scarce resource, we only have a certain amount we can use each day – so if you don’t manage yours well, your productivity will suffer.
Ultimately, long-term productivity is all about being in charge of your own energy.
Here are 5 energy saving strategies I use every day in my own business – and share with leaders through my seminars and workshops - that will transform you into a more energetic and productive person.
Protect your sleep above all else.
Do this by building a “sleep lair” that blocks out as much sound and light as possible, and creating a sleep ritual.
Eat meals low in highly processed carbs.
Consume minimal amounts of fatigue-inducing processed carbohydrates and sugars to keep your blood sugar levels from taking major spikes and dips during your workday.
Consider replacing them with dense veggies like Zucchini, Cauliflower, and carrots.
Drink plenty of water throughout your workday
Keep a bottle nearby and use several elastic bands around the bottle to keep count of refills
Use a website blocking app.
This reduces stress by helping you to avoid energy-draining internet surfing and stress-inducing click-bait news articles.
Top up your energy reserves.
Go for a walk or take a midday nap.
Remember, simply using a better approach to managing your energy levels will help you get more out of each day.
