The Secret to Making a Powerful First Impression
There is nothing more uncomfortable than standing in front of a room of strangers and hoping that your "sheer awesomeness" of your presentation will win them over.
In today's video, I share the one of the most powerful strategies I use when addressing a group of people I have never met.
The short of it: Introduce yourself to each person AND give them your handout at the same time.
This does two things:
1) Breaks the ice and makes it feel less like you are speaking to strangers but rather to someone you have already made a connection with.
2) Shows your openness and friendliness from the get go thereby increasing the likelihood of more dialogue and interaction throughout your presentation
REMEMBER: Becoming a great communicator is not so much about natural talent... but rather learning and applying specific strategies and tactics.
